Who gets to call out Racism? People with an idea of Racism or the people who know what it is?

Updated: Aug 6, 2020

There have been countless times when someone on social media had got canceled for racist remarks; there are times you have one group claiming that the action was racist. On the other hand, you have a group(who have direct knowledge of racism) disagreeing with the claim. In this situation, who gets to call out racism? I think that everyone should call out racism when they see it, but do not just call it racism just because you have a picture in your mind about what racism is. You have to understand it first. Racism is not an idea or an image in your brain. You legitly have to acknowledge and comprehend it. I generally believe that you have to have a lot of empathy when it comes to understanding racism.

There were numerous times when someone or something is trending for racism. I would look at it, and I didn’t see anything offensive, not one thing. Here you have privileged people and don’t look like me but insist on racism that’s not racism. It creates a distraction from real racism. You have people who stand in solidarity with people of color but have not yet educated themselves on racism and what it entails.

Have you ever come across the same thing, at least once? I’m seriously questioning whether or not I am the only one who has thought about this. I also find it weird that people have no problem calling out the racism that doesn’t pertain to them but has a problem calling out themselves, the people they associate with, and the public figure they admire; for racism and racist actions.
